Day 01 : Arrive Kolkata
On arrival, transfer to the hotel.

Day 02 : Kolkata
Full day sightseeing tour.
In 1690, Job Charnock, chief of the East India Company’s factory in Hooghly, looking for a new factory sites, selected and leased the three tiny villages from Emperor Aurangzeb. Six years later the company built the first Fort William and later, in 1773, rebuilt it in its present form.  Located on the west bank of the Hooghly River,  Howrah Station, almost a city in itself, can serve as an excellent introduction to the city of Calcutta.  Victoria Memorial, opened to the public in 1921, is a huge marble museum, a combination of classical European architecture and Mughal motifs.  The Indian Museum, founded in 1814 on the basis of the collection of the Asiatic Society, is one of the largest and most impressive museums in India. St Paul’s Cathedral built between 1839-1847, Kali Temple, The Marble Palace are few other interesting sites to visit.

Day 03 :  Kolkata-Sunderbans
Morning transfer to Jetty for embarking on M.V. Parmhamsa.
Check-in by 08:00 hours at Millenium Park Jetty.
Cruise will cast off at 08.30 am, once all the guests have checked in.

The cruiser sets sail along the beautiful Ganges towards the South, passing through the various heritage sites for seven to eight hours to reach Namkhana, a fisherman’s cove and the Gateway to Sunderbans. The guests can unwind, relax, soak in the beauty of the river; read books in the library; interact with Wildlifer or take an ayurvedic massage.

The busy fishing harbour will give an insight into the lifestyle of the fisherman.
After the interaction with the fishermen, the cruiser enters Sunderbans to navigate through the narrower creek of Hatania – Doania river which provides the first glimpse of the dense mangrove and the vast river system with several creeks flowing into the main rivers.

In the evening, diner with music from modern and traditional Bengal.
The cruiser will drop anchor at Namkhana for the night.

Day 04: Sunderbans
At 5.30 am the guests can see the spectacular sun-rise, while cruiser sails towards the east. This day the guests experience the lifestyle of Sunderbans, their traditions, culture along with the rich Bio diversity of the region as well and an Estuarine Crocodile Project at Bhagabatpur or a morning walk through the dense mangrove at Lothian Island Sanctuary amidst chirping of birds.

The guests will visit watchtowers, go for a canopy walk at some of the forested islands such as Dobanke, Sajnekhali and Sudhanyakhali with a naturlist, who will guide the guests to experience the forest, sight animals and birds; explain various mangrove species and tell the interesting stories of the Islands, the mangrove and wildlife.

After sunset, watch cultural programme that depicts traditional mythological folk drama, Bono Bibir pala, a rich folklore performance of Sunderbans.

Enjoy traditional Bengali meal while recorded folk songs of Bengal mesmerize the dining hall.

Overnight on Vessel.

Day 05: Sunderbans
On this day the guests observe spectacular sunrise across the dense mangrove. The guests disembark on Bali island to witness the life style of the Sunderban villagers and their activities such as rice husking ,honey packing etc. Thereafter, the cruiser turns back from the Sunderbans on its journey back to Kolkata.  The vessel sails south and then towards the west, through wide rivers, Bidya, Matla, Thakuran and Saptamukhi, which are almost as wide as a sea.

Our next stop is at Lothian Island, where there is an interesting forest trail/Bhagwatpur crocodile project if not covered on the second day. Vessel crosses Namkhana depending on tide and anchors on River Hoogly.

Dinner is served on the cruiser with  music.  (B, L, D)

Day 06: Sunderbans-Kolkata
The vessel heads back home, reaching at Millenium Park Jetty at forenoon.
Transfer to airport for onward flight.
